Apprentice Painter

Oriental Development Ltd. is located in Victoria, BC. We are now looking for 2 qualified Apprentice Painters to join our team.

 

Position: Apprentice Painter

Wage: C$ 24.00-30.00 hourly (to be negotiated)

Working Hours: 30-40 hours working / week (to be negotiated)

Vacation Pay: 4% of gross salary

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Work Location: 975 Alston St suite B, Victoria, BC V9A 3S5

Job duties:

·  Learn to measure, cut, and install wallpaper or fabric onto walls.

·  Assists Painter in reviewing specifications to determine the necessary quantities of materials.

·  Learn to employ surface preparation techniques such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting, and steam-cleaning.

·  Assists Painter in removing old wallpaper and loose paint, repairing cracks and holes in walls, and sanding surfaces before applying a sealer.

·  Learn to adjust the color and texture of paint by mixing and thinning it as needed.

·  Learn to utilize brushes, rollers, or spray equipment to apply paint or other materials.

 

Requirements:

·  Completion of secondary school.

·  Experience is an asset.

·  On-the-job training will be provided.
