The successful/ideal applicant should possess the following:
- Holds an AMI/MACTE accredited Montessori Certificate or is currently enrolled in an accredited program
- Holds a Bachelor degree
- Holds a ECEA (Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certificate) or ECE License
- Holds a First Aid Certificate
- Mandarin language skill is an asset
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work under the guidance of the principal and lead teacher.
- Support individual and group activities aimed at fostering the social, emotional, and academic development of children.
- Help teacher to plan language programs, engaging children through storytelling, crafting, and performing art.
- Help teachers to prepare the material for children and the school events.
- Assist the lead teacher in creating and sustaining a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Aid students individually or in small groups, fostering learning under the teacher’s supervision.
- Guide and support children in developing independence in self-care.
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for meals and school events.
- Observe and report on the individual development of children to the lead teacher.
- Evaluate children’s abilities, interests, and needs, discussing progress or challenges with the head teacher, principal, and other staff members.
- Maintain accurate records of children, encompassing social-emotional development and academic performance.
- Assist the principal in filing administrative reports, such as observation reports, incident reports, and monthly work records.
- Organize and participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other school-related events to enhance overall professional growth and development.
- Foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers working with children.
- Plan and uphold an environment ensuring the health, security, and well-being of children.
- Clean the classroom, washroom, and office with other staff regularly.
- Demonstrate experience working with children from diverse backgrounds.
