Oriental Development Ltd. is located in Victoria, BC. We are now looking for 2 qualified Drywall finisher apprentice to join our team.

 

Position:                             Drywall finisher apprentice

Wage:                                C$ 23.00-31.00 hourly (to be negotiated)

Working Hours:                   30-40 hours working / week (to be negotiated)

Vacation Pay:                      4% of gross salary

Terms of Employment:        Full-time, Permanent

Job duties:

·        Learn to measure, cut and install drywall panels for installation on walls and ceilings.

·        Assists Drywall finisher in positioning and securing boards to metal or wooden studs or joists.

·        Learn to cut and install metal corner beads to protect outside corners.

·        Learn to use a trowel and machete to fill joints, nail dents, holes, and cracks with joint compound.

·        Learn to use a tape machine to apply tape to joints and embed tape into compound.

·        Assists the Drywall finisher in smoothing out excess compound and allowing the coat to dry.

·        Learn to apply continuous coats of compound and sand to seams and joints.

·        Learn how to make and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place them in panels to create soundproof and coffered ceilings.

 

Requirements:

·        Completion of secondary school.

·        Experience is an asset.

·        On-the-job training will be provided.
