Who We Are:

Westview Oriental Restaurant, established since 2004, is proud to serve a wide range of traditional Chinese and Szechuan Cuisine, as well as fresh seafood. Stop in during lunch for a taste of dim sum classics, Hong Kong style dishes like Chow Fun Noodles or Sea Bass steamed with Ginger and Green Onion, or expand your repertoire with regional dishes like Szechuan Ginger Beef, Peking Duck, and Shanghai Noodles.


What You Do:

·         Cook a variety of Chinese dishes using traditional techniques such as stir-frying, steaming, braising, and deep-frying.

·         Instruct kitchen helpers on food preparation, including cutting, chopping, marinating, and seasoning meats, vegetables, and other ingredients.

·         Coordinate and oversee kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations in the kitchen and timely preparation of food orders.

·         Monitor inventory of ingredients, food, supplies, and equipment; notify management when items need to be replenished.

·         Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards to ensure safe preparation and storage of food, including maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen.

·         Ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality standards in terms of taste, presentation, and portion size.

·         Be adaptable to changes in menu offerings or customer preferences, quickly learning new recipes or adjusting cooking techniques as needed.

·         Assist in training new kitchen staff and provide guidance and support as needed.


What You Need:

·         Secondary education is an asset.

·         Training in cooking or food safety is preferred.

·         1+ year of prior experience in a related position is required.


Salary: $25/hour, 30-40 hours/week
